Joy from books

Osho

Roaming around some big &small bookstores to look for Love, freedom, alone by Osho (of course, Vietnamese version), no result gained just because it has been sold out. The e-book version are now available on internet and i have already read some pages first. I love it but I’d always love to read books in paper. How can express the joy of touching, smelling, taking books by hands. I guess so many would agree with me ^^. Instead, I find 3 second-hand books in an old bookstore that i think they deserve my time and effort all day. They are Life, love, laughter by OshoHermitage among the clouds by Thich Nhat Hanh and The lone swan by Su Manshu (translated by Vietnamese Great Poet Bui Giang and that’s the reason why i bought it without any hesitation). By the way, i’m just so into books on Buddhism and spirituality over the past months.

In regards to Life, love, laughter, this version is not officially published in Vietnam since no name of translator, publisher are written down. One who translated this book must have had great affection for Osho and just wanna to share her/his favorite book. I am so fond of its cover. Osho’s sweet and simple smile, the hand-in-hand between him and a young boy and a number of smiles behind him, all creates a cozy atmosphere. The crowd put hands together to show respect and every face seems to be shining with cheerfulness.

Anyway, so lucky to find them.

And these are gifts from my close friend. Some days ago, he asked me to go to bookshop with him. After choosing them, we headed for counter, he offered to pay for my books. It turns out his salary comes at the end of month. The white cover is Peace is every step by Thich Nhat Hanh, the next is The sorrow of war by Bao Ninh ( this work was first published in 1991 and won so much acclaim in Vietnam. Now it has been translated into many languages. Actually, I have bought one version in 2008 but this version is nice, so I cannot resist the desire to own again). The third is also by Osho – Gautam Buddha, History & His Awakening to Mankind. The last is “Behind the journals” by an Vietnamese author.

April 1st 2012.
